Health plan keeps getting better

STEUBENVILLE The health of the countys health insurance program just keeps getting better.

Jefferson County commissioners on Thursday approved the waiver of a third month of health premiums for county departments. County Commissioner Thomas Graham, who chairs the countys health insurance committee, said the departments will realize a total savings of up to $500,000 by not having to pay the premium.

Commissioners had already approved a waiver of three months of health premiums for county workers.

The departments wont have to pay health insurance costs for October, November and December, and workers wont have to pay premiums for November, December and January.

Graham was given the job four years ago of fixing a health insurance program that was $10 million in debt.
